There is no doubt that things are trending in a way that presents a set of challenges and new opportunities to the Solo Private Practitioner. It seems that if you are not pondering starting your own dental chain or joining a dental corporation these days, you are certainly in the minority. Regardless of perception, the Solo, General Practitioner in America is still very much in the minority, albeit a silent one.

Winning Dentist Magazine came about in a unique way. At the very core it is an outcrop of the duplicities I have personally observed ever since starting my coaching practice back in 2008.

Solo Private Dentists routinely fall into the traps of trying to be two things at once:
- Daily they are both caregivers and bosses.
- They are businessmen and family men.
- They are husband and healer.

Far too often we fall victim to allowing the pendulum of balance swing too far in one direction or the other. In my opinion, a Winning Dentist is one who understands their unique role in the universe without letting it take every ounce of energy they have, which could be better used to enrich the world.

There are dentists out there who are struggling and need a bit of a lifeline. There are dentists who nearly have it figured out, but lack one small piece of the puzzle to really take life by the horns. Then, there are the dentists who seem to effortlessly glide through the pitfalls and trials of professional life that ensnare so many. These dentists lead a life, not to be envied by the small minded, but to be celebrated and looked upon as a model for others to aspire.
